Several people are feared killed as twin bomb blasts hit the
Global System Communication (GSM) market located close to Brema Primary
School, along Mohammed Idrissa Way in Potiskum, Yobe State, North East
Nigeria on Monday afternoon.
According to eyewitnesses, two female
suicide bombers on tricycles came to the market, while one alighted and went inside the market, the other waited in the tricycle as the two explosive devices went off simultaneously.

The eye witness said: “I can confirm to you that the situation at the
moment is tense after the twin blasts around 3.15pm this afternoon.
Rescue operation is still ongoing and no one can tell you the casualty
figure now. It’s so sad that we keep hearing this on daily basis”
However, although authorities are yet to confirm the blast, hospital
sources said some bodies have been brought to the mortuary as rescue is
still ongoing.
Monday’s twin blasts are coming a day after another explosive device
went off at the Divisional Police station, also in Potiskum, killing two
people on the spot.
